Hello and a very warm welcome to our website!

Hello, a very warm welcome from Exmouth Art Group and we hope 2018 has started well for you!

Certainly members are looking forward to another full and interesting year and the two Exhibitions we have planned.  The first of these in May at the Premier Inn, participating in the Exmouth Festival, and later in October on the wonderful 2nd floor at the Ocean complex.  Both venues are located on the seafront with stunning views of the Exe Estuary, always an inspirational source for the visual arts.  However, as with all artists our members are encouraged by a variety of things to get creative and you can find examples of some of their work here.

Our eclectic and dynamic character is one of the reasons why we are such a successful Group and also because we run an interesting mix of art based activities.  For example, on the first and third Tuesday evening of most months there is a perfect chance to catch up, socialise and enjoy talks, demonstrations and competitions.  On a Thursday morning members come together to share practices, learn new techniques and in the summer months, weather permitting, participate in some plein air sessions.  New this year is a session on Thursday afternoons 1pm-4pm when members come together for experiment, revision, discussion and development.  We are fortunate to be able to meet in the Sea Cadets Hall - a perfect location for creativity and working outdoors!

Our visits to art events are a popular feature.  We go each year to the Bristol RWA Open Exhibition and have trips to other places often proposed by members.  In the summer our Patrons, Nigel and Heleen Lyndsay-Fynn, host a Reception and we always celebrate the festive season with a Christmas Party.  Find out more by visiting our What We Offer page.

So if this is your first or a return visit or you are you a subscribed member, practising artist or have an interest in the creative arts we hope you will find something for you.  And if you are looking to join an art group, purchase a painting, discover 'what's on' you should find the information you need but if you wish to know more please do not hesitate to contact us

Starting in 1946 with just seven members we now have almost two hundred working in a variety of media and disciplines.  Members range from age seventeen to ninety-two, from the self-taught amateur to the trained professional, working in styles from traditional to contemporary.

We keep members up to date with frequent communications, announcements at meetings, a quarterly newsletter, regular emails and through our Events page.  We are more than happy to promote individual activities and recruit new members.  So if you are looking for a lively, hospitable group whose members have a shared passion for the visual arts, we think you have come to the right place.
